To make a practical and durable old-clothing punching bag, start by sorting and cleaning 12–20 kg of soft garments (cotton shirts, t-shirts, jeans, towels), then remove hard items like zippers, metal parts, or tangled cords. Pre-compress the clothes by rolling each bundle tightly, then place them into a heavy-duty canvas or fabric bag with a drawstring opening. If you have a textile baler, compress in 2–3 rounds: fill, compact, tie/strap, then re-pack to create an even, dense core. For better shape, alternate folded layers so the weight is distributed. Stitch or clamp the opening firmly, then seal seams with nylon thread. Add 1–2 layers of protective fabric if the bag will be used for punching training, so impact won’t tear the outer shell. Finally, test firmness: it should feel firm but slightly compressible. Hang it from a strong mount, add a 5–10 cm handle loop at the top, and it’s ready for use or shipping. This method saves space, reuses materials, and creates a surprisingly useful training or protection aid.
