Description

ABS Lumps refer to ABS resin lumps, which are lumps or clusters of ABS plastic. This is typically an intermediate form of ABS during production, processing, or recycling.

What are ABS Lumps?

ABS Lumps are copolymers of acrylonitrile (A), butadiene (B), and styrene (S), existing in irregular lumps or clusters.

Appearance: Usually irregular, translucent or opaque, beige, white, black, or other colored solid lumps.

Sources:

1. Polymerization process: During ABS production (polymerization), the original form exiting the reactor may be lumps.

2. Processing waste: "Sprues," "scraps," and "defective products" generated during injection molding, extrusion, and other processing are crushed to form recycled ABS Lumps.

3. Recycling and dismantling: Recycled ABS material obtained from the dismantling, sorting, cleaning, and crushing of waste electrical appliances (such as television and computer casings), automotive parts, etc.

Main Features and Performance

ABS Lumps inherit the general excellent properties of ABS plastic:

1. Excellent mechanical properties: Good toughness and rigidity, high impact strength;

2. Easy to process: Good thermal stability, easy to perform thermoplastic processing such as injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding;

3. Good surface gloss: Smooth surface of the product, easy to perform secondary processing such as electroplating, spraying, and printing;

4. Good dimensional stability: The product is not easily deformed;

5. Disadvantages: Not weather-resistant (prone to aging and yellowing outdoors), flammable, soluble in some organic solvents (such as ketones and esters).

Main Uses

ABS Lumps themselves are not the final product. They need to be melted and granulated into uniform ABS granules before they can be used to produce various products.

1. Granulation raw material: This is the most important use of ABS Lumps. Whether it is virgin material or recycled material, it needs to be melted, filtered, extruded into strips, and then cut into uniform granules to facilitate subsequent automated production and accurate metering.

2. Production of Final Products (after granulation): Electronic and Electrical Appliance Housings: Housings for computers, televisions, telephones, printers, etc.;

Automotive Parts: Interior parts (dashboards, trim strips), grilles, steering wheel components, etc.;

Daily Necessities and Consumer Goods: Toys (especially classic LEGO bricks), suitcases, kitchen utensils, stationery, etc.;

Pipes and Sheets: Sheets used to manufacture various industrial pipes and for vacuum forming.

Classification and Grading:

The quality and price of ABS Lumps vary greatly, mainly depending on their source and purity:

Virgin Lumps: Directly from the polymerization process in chemical plants, with the best performance, purest color, and the highest price;

Recycled Lumps:

Grade 1 Recycled: From factory scraps and sprues, with a clear source, less pollution, and performance close to virgin material;

Grade 2/3 Recycled: From waste plastics recycled in society, which may have undergone multiple processing steps, containing impurities, mixed colors, and significantly reduced mechanical properties. It requires strict sorting, cleaning, and modification before use.

Processing and Handling Precautions

1. Pretreatment: Drying is usually required before melt granulation to remove moisture and prevent air bubbles from forming during processing.

2. Cleaning and Sorting (for Recycled Materials): Recycled ABS Lumps must be thoroughly cleaned to remove labels, metal, dust, and other impurities, and then sorted by color and grade.

3. Modification: To meet specific needs, glass fiber (reinforcement), flame retardants, toughening agents, or color masterbatches can be added to the ABS Lumps during the granulation process.

4. Filtration: During granulation, the molten ABS needs to be filtered to remove minute impurities, which is crucial for recycled materials.

ABS Lumps are a fundamental form in the ABS plastics industry chain and an important intermediate connecting raw materials and finished products. Their value lies in their ability to be melted and recycled, enabling resource recycling. Whether used as virgin material in the consumer market or as recycled material to "turn waste into treasure," they play an indispensable role in modern industry.

FAQ

> What are the different types of ABS Lumps Shredder?

The shredder has many types such as small type, double shaft shredder, single shaft shredder, four shaft shredder, metal shavings shredder, etc, we have different types of shredder according to your materials and output capacity.

> How about shipping fees for Durable Plastic Lumps Shredding Machine?

The shipping fees are different, it depends on what kind of shredder will you need and which destination port will arrive at, for small shredder, will use LCL Shipment and the shipping fees will be lower; for big shredder machine, will use full container, the fees will be higher, In a word, the shipping fees are different according to different destination port and different model of shredder, will send you details shipping fees after checking with our forwarder, or you can check with your own forwarder.

> What is package of Cost of ABS Mass Shredder?

Generally speaking, there are two packages of the machine, wooden package, and plastic films, wooden package is mainly for small machine with LCL shipment, and plastic films mainly for big machine with FCL shipment before loading into the container, and we can meet your special package requirement if you have any.

> Is it automatic or Manual control for PE Lumps Shredder?

The shredder has automatic control and manual control, the manual control is used to debug the machine when the shredder machine arrived at your place, and the machine will run in automatic control when normal working, and that will be more efficient in automatic control.

> What kind of payment method do you accept for Hdpe lUMPS Shredder?

We offer secure and flexible payment terms to facilitate a smooth transaction. Our standard accepted methods are: T/T (Telegraphic Transfer/Bank Wire): This is the most common method. We typically structure it as follows: 30% down payment with the purchase order.70% balance payment before shipment; L/C (Letter of Credit) at Sight: We accept irrevocable Letters of Credit issued by a reputable bank. All charges are for the applicant's account.For established business partners, alternative arrangements such as a D/P (Documents against Payment) may be considered upon credit review.

We will be pleased to discuss and specify the agreed-upon method in our Proforma Invoice for your convenience.

> How to install Plastic Pallet Shredder?

For small shredder , we will not disassemble it when shipping, you just need to add hydraulic oil and connect to the electrical power, then operate per user manual, that is OK, for bigger one, we will make detail marks when disassembling the machine, you just only need to assemble the machine per marks, that is alright; and you can contact with our technical team when you have any problems.

> What are the service requirements for the ABS Lumps Shredding Machine?
